Time to unpack your hiking boots and binoculars or simply relax when you book in to stay at our home, Hutton Lodge.

An ideal stop off point near the border of England and Scotland, if travelling north or south.

It is a 19th century ex-school house on the picturesque Solway Firth, 5 miles east of Dumfries in the hamlet of Bankend on the Solway Heritage Trail near the WWT and Caerlaverock Nature Reserve.

Our comfortable en-suite bedrooms are fitted with down duvets and are provided with a welcome coffee / tea and biscuit courtesy tray that will help you feel at home.

Day snacks are available at The Boathouse in Glencaple village (approximately 2 miles from our home).

Evening meals can be taken at the Nith Hotel in Glencaple village; the Swan Inn at Kingholm Quay or at numerous restaurants in Dumfries.

Please note that all rooms are located on the first floor level, requiring guests to negotiate a flight of stairs.

We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
